This year DYHA nominated Andy Middaugh for Don Heyliger award.  Andy played for hockey Dover Stars in the late 90’s and for Dover high school.  He is a full time college student, preparing to be a Physician’s Assistant. He has served on several deployments the the Middle East with the NH National Guard, and has been coaching for DYHA for over four years.  Andy’s influence to local hockey includes actually designing our current Dover Stars travel uniform.  He does not have a child in the program, he has passion for hockey and to teach the game.  He has been on the bench with Coach Jamie Eno, Peter Keilty, and now with the Squirt Select 2 team.   When his schedule allows, Andy puts his goalie gear on and helps Coach Stu Frye with the program’s goalie skills.  Love and hockey go hand in hand in the Middaugh household, Andy convinced his wife Katie to sharing their wedding vows on Dover’s Holt rink with several of his former players participating in the ceremony.

Andy is an excellent example of volunteerism. He has made great contributions to the development of our players at multiple levels and certainly does not look for this kind of recognition and that’s why we believe he deserves it most.
