New DYHA Player Safety Coordinator

The DYHA Board of Directors is pleased to announce the creation of a Safety Coordinator position for the organization.  The Safety Coordinator will assist DYHA in providing coaches, players and parents with information and assistance around player safety, health and fitness.   Responsibilities will include organizing annual injury management and CPR courses for our coaches, managing a safety information page on the DYHA website, providing useful information to coaches and families periodically via email and acting as a resource of information for anyone who has player safety or health related questions.

We also want to thank Craig Croteau who brought this idea to the Board and has agreed to take on the role.  Craig has been part of the DYHA family for over 6 years and currently serves as Assistant Coach and Team Manager of our Granite State Wild PeeWee Minor team.  Craig is also a retired paramedic who worked for the City of Dover Fire & Rescue for 24 years and spent many years teaching medical and fire fighting programs at Dover High School.

A new email address as been set up for anyone who would like to contact Craig with questions or has ideas about how we can improve DYHA’s player safety program.  You can reach him at safetycoordinator@doverhockey.org.  This contact information is also now listed on the Board of Directors page of the DYHA website.

Please join us in welcoming Craig to the role and thank him for his commitment to helping Dover Youth Hockey provide a safer playing experience for our young athletes!
