27 brand new hockey players got all geared up on Monday night in preparation for hitting the ice as members of DYHA's first ever session of The First Shift.  Members of the Bauer 'Fit Team' were on hand at the McConnell Center to size players for a complete set of Bauer gear and to educate players and parents on the basics of fitting and wearing hockey equipment.  The players will take the ice on December 3rd for the first of six 'Learn to Play Hockey' sessions led by our House League coordinator Fred Strum and other DYHA coaches and assisted by players from local high schools.

Dover Youth Hockey is the second program in the country to partner with Bauer for The First Shift.  The program is part of Bauer's "Grow the Game" initiative and is designed to offer a high-fun, low-cost opportunity for boys and girls ages 5-10 to try hockey for the first time.  The program will be offered annually each fall by DYHA.
