The Dover Youth Hockey House program offers a recreational program for all levels of play and ages. We encourage beginners and experienced players, as well as both males and females to participate. We emphasize sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill development as our primary focus. House League is a great starting point for players interested in participating in organized hockey in a great learning environment.
The House League season starts in October and concludes in late February. There is one practice each week (Friday nights) and one game on Sunday mornings. Schedules will be posted to the House League page of the DYHA website.
Player evaluations will take place during the first practice session . Player evaluations are solely for planning purposes, so that teams are created as evenly as possible, ensuring an optimal development environment and fun for every player.
All players will receive a jersey and socks. Goalies are supplied with equipment if needed.
Mini Mite (6-and-under) and Mite (8-and-under) teams play cross ice games. Squirts (10-and-under) play full ice games. U-14 teams play full ice hockey.Sunday morning games are officiated by USA hockey certified referees, except at the Mini-Mite and Mite levels.
Volunteer coaches are always needed. All coaches must be USA Hockey certified. Please contact Mike Young, Director of Hockey Operations, at email@example.com with any questions on coaching certification.
