On November 24th, 2019 the Maine Amateur Hockey Association held its tryouts for the 14U, 15U, 16U and 17U New England Development Camp. The New England District is made up of 5 states – CT, ME, NH, RI and VT.  Forward Jack Kenney was selected to the boys 16U team and Defenseman Benjamin Thyng was selected to the boys 14U team. Both are current players for the Granite State Wild.

Kenney and Thyng will be able to attend the New England Festival tournament camp, which allows the athletes an opportunity to compete at their highest level. It is not a true tournament but, rather, a grueling few days of training and competition meant to showcase players. Winning is not the focus. The top priority is for the players to experience a camp of development, on and off ice knowledge and tough competition with a range of coaches from New England’s prep schools and colleges. Those who are selected to move on will then participate in the summer USA Hockey National Player Development Camps for boys and girls aged 15-17.

Congratulations to all! GO WILD!!!
