Keep an eye out for Granite State Wild jerseys the next time you’re watching a Bruins game!  Shea Buckley, Cole Meyer, Garrett Aceto and Dylan Cossette- all members of our GS Wild Squirt Major team- recently participated in the Bruins Mini 1-on-1 tournament at the TD Garden.  Their games will be replayed on NESN during the intermission of Bruins games in the coming weeks.

The team from Dover earned the opportunity to represent New Hampshire after a very strong showing at the qualifying tournament held in Manchester on October 16th.  Having just played several games with their Wild teammates at weekend tournament in Jay Peak, VT, the four drove directly to Manchester to play in a series of 2-minute, 3 v 3, cross-ice games.  After reaching the quarter finals, they notched a win against a very tough Manchester Flames team a shootout victory against the team from Hanover to reach the finals-- and a guaranteed trip to Boston.  After a very long weekend of hockey the boys took the Seacoast Spartans to triple overtime before coming up just short in a shootout thriller.

Buckley, Meyer, Aceto and Cossette travelled to the TD Garden on November 13th to compete for New England bragging rights and tickets for them and their families to attend the 2016 NHL All-Star Game.  They came out of the gates red hot, posting a 5-0 win in the Round of 16 against a team from the Maine Fighting Spirit.  All three icemen scored during the game, while Cossette was a wall in net to earn himself an opening round shutout.

Unfortunately their luck ran out in the quarter final round.  In another exciting game, the boys took the team from the Rhode Island Saints to OT but lost in the second round of shootouts.  The Wild dominated much of the game, which also saw more stellar netminding from Cossette, but the Saints were able to capitalize on a bad bounce in front of the net with under a minute to play in regulation to take a 1-0 lead. The Wild continued to battle and drew the game back to even with just 7 seconds remaining when Buckley knocked home a perfect pass from Meyer.  After a scoreless first round the Saints finally picked up the shootout win when the Wild failed to match their second round shootout goal

Congratulations Shea, Cole, Garrett and Dylan on an impressive showing and for doing such a great job representing New Hampshire and DYHA!
