Dover Youth Hockey Association is pleased to announce a new partnership with Puckstoppers Goaltending to train DYHA goalies starting in the fall of 2017.

Puckstoppers Goaltending is owned and run by Rob Day, who has over 25 years of experience training and coaching goaltenders.  Rob is the only goaltending instructor in New England to have coached at all levels of NCAA hockey (Division I, II and III) and he has developed many of the top goalies in New England, including 13 Division I college commits in just the last 3 years alone.

Starting with the 2017-18 season, DYHA goaltenders will train on a bi-weekly basis at the Puckstoppers state-of-the-art facility, located at 16 Kingston Road in Exeter, NH just outside of downtown Exeter.  The Puckstoppers facility offers the only "ICE Light" training system in New England.  ICE Light is capable of projecting both moving and static images on the synthetic ice surface to duplicate a wide array of game situations.  It can also provide angle markers and other visual cues to help goaltenders improve positioning.  The projected images are combined with live shooting for a complete training experience that is unlike anything found in the region.

DYHA selected Puckstoppers for many reasons, including experience, training facility and their approach to training both the physical and mental aspects of the game.  The ability of a goalie to manage the mental challenges of overcoming a tough loss or allowing a critical goal is often equally important to his or her physical skill.  Rob and his staff are dedicated to helping goalies maximize their physical potential, while also making them capable of handing the adversity of the game that is so unique to goaltending.
