If you've been around the Dover Arena this month you may have noticed that one of our Granite State Wild teams is taking the ice in something other than their black and gold gear.

The GSW Squirt Majors have chosen to don pink game jerseys and socks during the month of October in honor of National Breast Cancer Awareness month, an annual campaign organized by major breast cancer charities to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause and prevention.

Wearing of pink has become a symbol of support for breast cancer survivors and those battling the disease.  The decision to wear these special uniforms has extra meaning for the team.  Players and their families have united in wearing pink to show their support for the mother of a teammate who is currently battling the disease.
