Granite State Wild Program & Tryout Schedule

By Jeremy Forest, 02/11/18, 8:00PM EST

Tryouts for the 2018-19 Granite State Wild will be held starting Monday, March 5th.  The 2018-19 program guide is now available, as well as our tryout schedule and online tryout registration.  These can also be found on the tryout page the DYHA website, under the Travel Team menu.

The Granite State Wild offers players the best in hockey skill development and competition by offering a combined schedule of league games, tournaments and independent games.  During the 2017-18 season many of our teams played (and won big!) in some great tournament destinations, including Montreal, Lake Placid and Jay Peak.

Granite State Wild players participate in 80 minute skill sessions on a weekly ice sessions led by instructors from Premier Hockey LLC.  Our goalies receive training from Puckstoppers, working both on-ice and in specialized sessions at the Puckstoppers goalie training center.

As a non-profit hockey organization, DYHA keeps hockey as affordable as possible while providing the best value of any hockey program in the region.  We encourage you to compare all that we offer to similarly priced programs...or even the programs that charge $1000 more!

Wild player tuition includes:
*140-160 of ice time per week for most age levels (80 min practice & 80 min skill session)
*5+ full ice, 60-minute practices per season
*Professional skills training provided by Premier Hockey, LLC
*Professional on-ice and specialty goalie training by Puckstoppers
*30-40 games per season, plus playoffs (*league dependent)
*Entry fee into 2 independent tournaments (most levels)
*Pro-weight, twill home and away game jerseys, game socks & practice jersey

Wild team rosters are limited to a maximum of 16 players (14 skaters, 2 goalies) at ALL levels.

2018-19 will be an exciting year for our organization.  All of our travel teams will now play as the Granite State Wild, including our Dover Stars travel teams- which will now play as Granite State Wild Select.  The Wild Select teams will continue play as 'combined birth year' teams, just as the Stars teams did.  This season we will field Squirt 2008/2009, Peewee 2006/2007 and Bantam 2004/2005 Select teams.  The Wild Selects will continue to compete in the Granite State League and Seacoast Hockey League.

All of our Wild players will be wearing newly designed uniforms featuring our brand new logo!  Our new look was chosen by our players who responded to our logo and jersey selection surveys.

(DYHA will also continue the tradition of the Dover Stars.  Players in our House League and First Shift programs will be donning the 'D-Star' as members of our Star Player Development Program.  Stay tuned for more info when we start these programs again in the early fall!)

We look forward to seeing you at tryouts starting March 5th...
